The Galaxy S23 series of smartphones, which were probably the most-anticipated Android flagships, are now available. Samsung’s first in-person phone launch since February 2020 was today, when the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra were shown off. The Ultra model, which comes out with a high-resolution 200MP main camera and Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, is the star of the show and the topic of this post. Read on to find out how much the new Galaxy S23 Ultra costs, what its specs are, and what features it has.
Specifications
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is Samsung‘s best phone, and it has cutting-edge hardware. It has the best screen, best cameras, and fastest chip of the brand. In other words, there is a tall 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ (3,088 x 1,440) resolution and a dynamic refresh rate that can go from high 120Hz to as low as 1Hz thanks to LTPO technology.
The phone’s screen can get as bright as 2,000 nits at its brightest. This is a lot brighter than the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which has a brightness of 1,750nits. Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is used to protect the panel.
The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC powers the phone. It comes with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of internal storage. Samsung didn’t release the device with an Exynos chipset like it did last year. The S23 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged with 45W of wired power or 10W of wireless power. There is also support for charging in the other direction. Last, the phone comes with One UI 5, which is based on Android 13.
The S23 Ultra comes out as the best camera phone from Samsung. The phone has four cameras, the biggest of which is a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor that can record up to 8K video at 30 frames per second. The main sensor also has OIS, which stands for optical image stabilisation.
Cameras
The main sensor is paired with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens that has an aperture of f/1.4 and a field of view of 120 degrees, as well as a 10MP telephoto lens that has a 3x optical zoom, an aperture of f/2.4, and OIS support. There’s also a 10MP periscope telephoto camera with f/4.9 aperture and up to 10x optical zoom. The front of the phone has a 12MP camera for taking selfies.
Design
If you think the design will change a lot, you’ll be let down. Most people won’t be able to tell the difference between the Galaxy S23 Ultra and the S22 Ultra just by looking at them. The phone is almost the same size as its predecessor. It has sharp corners and a S pen that is stored on top. The camera island, which is where most changes to the way something looks happen, is also the same. There are three separate rings for the camera. One difference is that the sides of the device are flatter, which makes it easier to hold.
Price and Market
There will be four colours to choose from for the Galaxy S23 Ultra: Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender. From February 17, you’ll be able to buy it through different channels. In the US, the 8/256GB version of the phone starts at $1,200 and in India, it starts at 115,000.
